LEICESTERSHIRE SINFONIA

ABOUT US

The Leicestershire Sinfonia is an amateur ensemble formed in 2006 by Matt Lynch, and now in its 19th season. Matt is now making an international career as a conductor and we are very proud that he started with us when he was still at school.  We are based at St Philips church, Evington Road, Leicester.

We aim to give musicians in Leicestershire an opportunity to achieve their full musical potential, through classical music. We pride ourselves on being friendly and approachable.

We are a small ensemble. focussing on smaller scale classical works.

We welcome new players, especially violins and violas. Come and give us a try!

UP NEXT - our next concert will be Mozart quintet for piano and wind, performed by Leicestershire Sinfonia Winds as part of St Peters church 150 year anniversary celebrations. It's on SATURDAY 15th February 2025, coffee at 11 30 and concert at 12. Admission free.

Our next orchestral outing is OVERTURE! featuring 4 overtures (Mozart, Salieri, Mayer and Schumann) and Mozart's Symphony no 39. SATURDAY 29th March at St Philips at 7 pm, conducted by our guest conductor Dexter Drown.
